Yoga Retreat in Astam (near Pokhara, Nepal)

Nestled in the foothills of the Annapurna Himalayan Range, Astam is the perfect place to rewind and relax, practice yoga and meditation, and breathe. Astam is approximately 45 minutes drive away from Pokhara and offers the serenity and peace away from the hustle and bustle of the city.


This yoga retreat is for you if you want to practice yoga and meditation daily, gain knowledge on breathing practices, experience the beauty of the Annapurna Himalayas and immerse yourself into the yogic lifestyle and local culture.

On this yoga retreat, you will get a chance to:

  • Practice yoga, including breathing techniques (pranayama), on a daily basis. Beginners will get the chance to get a taste of yoga and build a good foundation for their yogic journey. More experienced yogis will deepen their practice and gain further inspiration for their ongoing yoga journey.

  • Practice mantra meditation, guided meditation and experience a unique sound bowl healing session

  • Learn about the local farmer life, the local herbs and ayurveda

  • Taste organic healthy foods and specialties

  • Wake up to stunning sunrise views on the Annapurna Himalayan range

The Program

Available all year round for minimum 3 days/2 nights - please send us an enquiry with your preferred dates and length of stay.

Pick-up from Lakeside, Pokhara and return transport is provided.


- Daily yoga, pranayama and meditation sessions

- Sunrise yoga with views on the Annapurna Himalayas

- Local farm tour & village hike

- Sound Bowl Healing session

- Yoga nidra session

- Jungle walk and / or ayurvedic cooking class

Sample schedule for a retreat of 3 days/2 nights length:

Day 1: Pick up in Lakeside, Pokhara and drive to Astam, followed by lunch. Village hike and farm tour, followed by afternoon Yoga and Meditation. Dinner.

Day 2: Sunrise yoga & pranayama (breathwork) with views on the Himalayas, followed by breakfast. Jungle walk and enjoy a healthy lunch together. Afternoon Yoga and Meditation. Dinner.

Day 3: Sunrise yoga & pranayama (breathwork) with views on the Himalayas, followed by breakfast. Sound Bowl Healing session and free time. Lunch and depart back to Pokhara by jeep.


Retreat location

The retreat venue is located at Annapurna Eco Village Resort in Astam Village, close to Pokhara, Nepal. It is a local village where life is slow and peaceful - an ideal spot to immerse yourself in your yoga practice. From here, the views on the Annapurna Himalayan Range as well as the surrounding hills and towns are just stunning. 

Annapurna Eco Village Resort in Astam offers spacious and bright private rooms (Queen sized bed) with attached bathroom. There is a huge garden as well as a big, newly built and inspiring yoga hall where we can practice. From all rooms we have views on the Himalayan mountains. The food will be entirely vegetarian/vegan organic meals with vegetables sourced from the local farms.

Pricing for 3 days/2 nights:
185 USD

Pricing for 4 days/3 nights:
255 USD

Pricing for 5 days/4 nights:
315 USD

- all retreat and yoga activities
- accomodation in private room with attached bathroom and mountain/garden view
- all meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, snacks)
- transportation from Pokhara to Astam and back to Pokhara on the last day

+ 60 USD for any additional night for retreats over 5 days of length. 
We also organize retreats for private groups at your chosen dates!

Note: Yoga mats will be provided. You can bring your big suitcase or backpack.

Terms and conditions

We require a reservation via e-mail or the "Book online" page of this website. 

The full price of the 2 night/3 day retreat can be paid upon arrival. If you wish for a longer retreat, Madan Yoga reserves the right to ask for a deposit payment. If the retreat must be cancelled by Madan Yoga, this deposit will of course be fully refunded. Please note that all fees are non-negotiable.
